Dinoquest

An amazing dinosaur exhibit at the Missouri Botanical Gardens.

Faerie Houses

Zilker Botanical Gardens hosted a faerie house exhibit this year. It was neat to see all of the different types of houses people had made. Kind of makes me want to make one for my yard! When I saw this fairy paper a few weeks later, I knew it was perfect for the layout.

Luminaria

There was an amazing traveling exhibit here in January. It was an inflatable luminaria. They said that every experience is different depending on light and time of day. It was so relaxing and peaceful. We would have stayed all day if they let us!

Kite Festival

2012's Zilker Kite Festival. Beautiful, not quite windy enough, March day.

hubby's 28th

Details: Blue paper is azure from SEI's poppy line.Patterned papers are the A & B sides of Gift Wrap from SEI's Happy Day line. Stitched rub on is by Hambly Studios. Glitter letters are Making Memories. "It's Your Day" is by Jillibean Soup.

Michelle's wedding

 My sister and her husband had a beautiful wedding back in August of 2009. That's right, this is  my last 2009 layout! woohoo. I am so pleased with the way this turned out. I really wanted to showcase so many beautiful photos from their big day, it was hard to choose just a few!

Details: Green paper is Parakeet by Bazzill Basics and was used in a lot of my sister's wedding accents. The flowers are leftover from making place cards. They are from the bridal line at Michaels. The yellow letters are Thickers in Vera by American Crafts.

Four Years

The traditional anniversary gifts to celebrate four years are fruit and flowers. Chris gave me some beautiful gerberas, reminiscent of our wedding, and some wonderful smelling freesia. He also gave me ting ice creams to enjoy while watching a movie and some new to me fruits. I gave him a mandarin orange tree and a game for us to play together. We capped off the celebration with a wonderful feast at the Melting Pot. Yum!

Zilker kite festival 2010

This layout is a little bit different for me. I had all of these wonderful pieces that would make this layout awesome, I just didn't know how to use it all together. Then inspiration struck and I ended up with this and I love it. It is just such a happy layout. Yes, that is pink you see :)

A Sweet Tradition

Making sweet treats every Christmas with my sister is something I look forward to all season. We added my husband to our treat making after we got married. This year we added another set of helping hands.

Details: Dot paper is Winter Dots by Heidi Grace. Snowflake paper is Winter Mini Flakes, also by Heidi Grace. Cookie embellishments are by Jolee's. The title was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge. The journaling stamp is by Ali Edwards from Technique Tuesday.

No place like home

When I was visiting my parents last June, I walked around their yard with my sister to take pictures of things that remind me of my childhood.

Details: The blue patterned paper is Hyacinth from American Crafts' I Do line. The pink patterned paper is Gerber Daisies from American Crafts' I Do line. The green ribbon is from SEI's Glitzmas line. "Home" was cut out using the Jumbo feature on the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge. "No place like" was made from making memories' mini shimmer alphas.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

We visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium on our trip to California this past spring. It is one of my favorite aquariums! If you become a member there you can have a slumber party there. How cool is that!?

New England Aquarium

While we were visiting my sister-in-law and her family we decided to make a day trip to Boston and go to the aquarium. This was my nephew Max's first time to see fish. He was pretty excited. So excited he didn't nap.

Details: The background paper is from Heidi Grace's Beyond the Sea line (Sea Bed). Sadly I think it is my last paper from that line. I loved all the pieces! The embellishments are by Jolee's.

Berkeley Botanical Gardens

On our way up to Sacramento, Noey and I, stopped at the Berkeley Botanical Gardens. It is a beautiful garden arranged by parts of the world. We had a wonderful time, even if the sprinklers snuck up and attacked us!

Details: The patterned paper is from the new Doodle Bug Zoofari collection, Fauna. The blue strips are from the BBP Just the edge line in Artesian Pool (thanks Noey). The title was cut out using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge. The circle photos and shadows were cut out using the Plantin School Book cartridge. I used the center point feature on the Cricut. Learned something new!

Memphis

On our return trip home from Illinois we stopped in Memphis for a night and day. We hung out on Beale St. and walked around the downtown area in the morning. There are so many cool sculptures and architectural features. We also went and visited the infamous Peabody hotel ducks. They are quite spoiled for ducks.

Decorating Cookies

We decorated sugar cookies for Christmas. My husband always has to out do my sister and I's decorating, but we have tons of fun doing it.

Treehouses

We visited the San Antonio Botanical Gardens for the first time this summer. We wanted to check out the treehouse exhibit that they had installed at the time. It is a beautiful place. I especially love the Japanese garden. I hope that my backyard looks like that someday.
