Trick or treaters and carving pumpkins!

Last year a couple of my friends forced convinced me to do December Daily. While I did enjoy it, I much prefer to stare at my fall/halloween paper for 31 days on end. So this year I am doing October Daily (and yes I will be doing December Daily this year too). 

I plan on filling in this cover page as we do fun fall things.

Paper is from the Haunted collection by My Mind's Eye.

Carving Pumpkins

This year we didn't have time to carve pumpkins until Halloween day. The weather was great that day though and we were able to sit out side in the warm sun to carve this year's masterpieces.

Details: Orange paper is Rio De Janero by Bazzill Basics. Scalloped paper is Horizon by the Girls Paperie. Pumpkins are cut out from a Martha Stewart paper. Glitter letters and spider web frame are from Making Memories's Spook Alley collection.

Halloween Party

I had a few hours to scrap with my good friend Noey while she was in town the other day. I got two layouts done. This is the first that I finished. Our Halloween party this year was a costume party. We had lots of great food and everyone had fun dressing up.

Details: Patterned is toil and trouble by The Girls Paperie. Orange paper is Candle by Bazzill Basics. All brads and paper embellishments are from My Mind's Eye's Blackbird line.

Halloween Cards

I had some trouble narrowing down what my Halloween cards should look like this year. I had too many things to choose from this year with the THREE new Cricut cartridges. At last I settled on this design.

Details: Background paper is "spooky words" from the My Mind's Eye Haunted collection. Orange paper is the B side of candy corn from Making Memories' Spook Alley collection. The Boo! stamp is from Spook Alley as well. The ghost was cut out using the new Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge.

Halloween Wreath

Last year I saw this beautiful Halloween wreath on the Making Memories blog and I decided that if I still had enough paper left from the Spook Alley collection that I would do something similar this year. I started this project a few weeks ago and worked on the paper rolls bit by bit. I think it turned out great! If you want to know more about how I made it, supplies and instructions are below detail photos.

Supplies needed:

• Various 12x12 papers from the Making Memories Spook Alley collection
• Spook Alley Trims and Treats
• Spook Alley Die Cuts
• 12 inch diameter foam wreath (the sample one was 8")
• One roll of black tulle - 2" wide
• toothpicks for placing ghosts and die cuts on wreath
• Sequin pins for securing paper
• Pencil
• Paper cutter

Wrap tulle around the wreath, overlapping about half of each wrap around to cover the green foam. Secure the end of the ribbon with a sequin pin. Cut off excess and tie around the top of the wreath to hang it up.

Cut paper into 1/4" strips. Wrap each strip, tightly, around a pencil to form a coil. Secure each coil to the wreath, with a sequin pin, in a desired pattern. Continue until wreath front is covered.

Once all the paper coils are secured to the wreath, it is time to add embellishments. Secure a toothpick to the back of the ghosts and die cuts. I used scotch tape to do this. Then place the tooth picks through the coils in a desired location. To secure the bats I used an adhesive dot and stuck them to a paper coil.

Once you have everything where you like it, hang the wreath indoors. I think this would also be nice with Christmas paper and embellishments!

At Last

ProvoCraft has finally announced two Halloween themed Cricut cartridges. I can't wait to snatch these up. I just need to save up my pennies until their release dates or if you need an early birthday gift idea... :)

Here is the assortment of cards I made this year for Halloween. I think everyone has received theirs. They are truly random!

Card for Stephanie. Paper is from the Martha Stewart Halloween collection. Punch is the infamous Drippy Goo punch my Marta Stewart. Ghost and buttons are from the Making Memories Spook Alley collection.

Dinner Party

We hosted a formal dinner party this year for our Halloween party. It was so much fun getting dressed up and eating off the china! We had a blast.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to our favorite pumpkin place again this year in Marble Falls. The pumpkin ice cream was the best it has ever been this year. The place was packed though, I guess I should stop recommending that place to people. Then there wouldn't be such a crowd ;)
