Sunken Gardens

During our trip to Tampa, FL last November for a friend's wedding, we visited the beautiful Sunken Gardens.

Details: On this layout I tried something new for me. I stitched like crazy. I used my SewEasy tool and mat to pierce the holes for the zig zag pattern. And then I stitched for hours.

Coral paper is Flamingo Lily by Core'dinations. Grey swirls are the B side of a paper called Text Me from the Midterm line by Bella Blvd. Chiplets are by SEI and are part of their On The Coast line. Mini letters are from the Line Twist line by My Mind's Eye.

House Hunting

Sorry the colors are wonky on these pictures! That's what happens when you are a bad blogger and are trying to catch up on a lot of stuff.

Back in February, when we were house hunting, my sister was with us when we put an offer in on a house our first time. These pictures are what she snapped after when she said "look excited". It was quite the roller coaster journey.

Our First House

This past April we purchased our first house. Exciting times!

Pet Me I'm Irish

This year Luna decided to sport her Irish pride on St. Patrick's Day.

Details: Both papers are from Little Yellow Bicycle's Lucky Me collection. The canvas title and clovers are also from the Lucky Me collection. Glad I finally got to use these papers, I won them forever ago at Archiver's.

Congo River Putt Putt

No vacation is complete without playing a round of miniature golf. The place we went to in Tampa, Congo River, had live gators throughout the course! You could feed the gators if you wanted to. As usual, I lost.

Adam & Beth

This past November we were able to join Adam & Beth on their wedding day in Tampa, FL. They had the cutest boutonnieres made out of vintage buttons! The table numbers were also vintage buttons! It was so cute. And I loved their chocolate brown, orange and green color scheme. We had a blast, right down to the after party at Bahama Breeze.

Chihuly in Tampa

Last November we visited the Morean Arts Center in Tampa, FL to see the only permanent Chihuly gallery. Sadly, they wouldn't let you take pictures. They had some amazing chandeliers, sea horses, and spheres. You should really check it out. I even purchased my own tiny Chihuly. We then went across the street to soak up the park and bay.

Golden birthday bash

I am having a party the end of October to celebrate my golden birthday (turning 29 on the 29th) instead of my usual Halloween party. I hope its a blast. I will share party decor pictures as they are done.

Cookie Exchange

This last Christmas I decided to host a cookie exchange. My friend Ashley brought every guest a sugar cookie Christmas tree. They were amazing. I made chocolate chip cookies, sugared cranberries, chocolate covered pretzels and brownie covered oreos. Yum!

Turkey Ball

I love to make cheese balls. People love to eat my cheese balls. Some people even go so far as to request one whenever they see me. I decided this year I was going to make one as an appetizer for Thanksgiving. I thought it would be more festive if it looked like a turkey (I have been known to make a snowman around Christmas time). It was so great, even though I got made fun of for my creativity, that I decided to scrap it.

We Moved!

We bought our first house and we are finally done with some home renovations and have moved in. I will be scrapping this weekend. I think it will feel good to get back in the creative groove. :)

Sing-Along

We, once again this year, went to the Christmas sing-along. It was tons of fun as always.

Meeting Milah

While I was back in my hometown for Christmas, I got to meet my fur-niece, Milah. She is a curly haired cat.

Details: Blue paper is from SEI's Kris Kringle line. I don't know where the green paper is from. "Furry Friend" was cut out using the Meow Cricut Lite cartridge. The paw print got the Stickle treatment. "Milah" was written out using glitter stickers by American Crafts (I think).

Christmas Eve

After candlelight Christmas Eve service, we took a few pictures of us and the tree at my parent's house while we waited for everyone else to get home.

Iced Memories

Another year of delicious cookies. This time around we tried a new sugar cookie recipe with almond extract. I have to say it added a great flavor. I think we will use it again next year. We even had new sprinkles this year! :)

Sweet Berry Farms

We had beautiful weather this year when we went to pick out our pumpkins. We got two pumpkins, completed the corn maze, and ate some delicious homemade strawberry ice cream. YUM!

Carving Pumpkins

This year we didn't have time to carve pumpkins until Halloween day. The weather was great that day though and we were able to sit out side in the warm sun to carve this year's masterpieces.

Halloween Party

I had a few hours to scrap with my good friend Noey while she was in town the other day. I got two layouts done. This is the first that I finished. Our Halloween party this year was a costume party. We had lots of great food and everyone had fun dressing up.

Details: Patterned is toil and trouble by The Girls Paperie. Orange paper is Candle by Bazzill Basics. All brads and paper embellishments are from My Mind's Eye's Blackbird line.

Michelle's wedding

 My sister and her husband had a beautiful wedding back in August of 2009. That's right, this is  my last 2009 layout! woohoo. I am so pleased with the way this turned out. I really wanted to showcase so many beautiful photos from their big day, it was hard to choose just a few!

Details: Green paper is Parakeet by Bazzill Basics and was used in a lot of my sister's wedding accents. The flowers are leftover from making place cards. They are from the bridal line at Michaels. The yellow letters are Thickers in Vera by American Crafts.

Poinsettia Wreath

I saw an idea for a wreath like this in a Holiday Crafts magazine. Their example used an old sweater as the base, I used green ribbon instead. I made a cut file for the poinsettia flowers and cut them out on SCAL at a height of 4, 3, and 2.25 inches. I then overlapped two flowers either of the same size or two of different sizes. I then stuck them on using a pin. I thought the plain red pins were lacking, so I added some red Stickles. Cutting felt on your Cricut is way easier than I feared.
